2012 is the year of the stallion for Paradise Arabians. Leading into this year, our own Scapa swept the Egyptian Event title of “Champion Get of Sire,” arguably the most coveted title for any stallion.
Now we’d like to introduce you to his rival, Kohl Al Jannat: The Dark Knight of Paradise.
Called “The Young Black Stallion,” Kohl is a a dramatic, breathtaking stallion we couldn’t be more excited about. We’ve already had so much excitement around this young stallion that we only have three breedings available this year, and to select mares. Don’t miss your chance to feature this bloodstock in your breeding program!

The world has long known of Paradise’s reputation for professional horse trainers and breeders, and the quality of the stock we breed. But a well-kept secret at Paradise is owner Gary Kenworthy’s photographic eye.
We’re very excited to announce that our very own star-producing stallion, Scapa, is featured on the industry-leading Arabian Horse World Magazine’s site–front and center on the homepage, and that stunning shot was beautifully captured by none other than breeder Gary Kenworthy himself. For an Arabian photographer, that’s probably about the best Christmas present one could hope for!
Gary and Scapa have had a special bond from the beginning when Gary knew he had a special foal. Scapa has continued to impress all that see him–and his offspring–from Georgia to across the world. At the 2011 Egyptian Event, Scapa amazed everyone, snagging the coveted Get of Sire Championship title. His son, JLS Aayns Al Reejis took the top honor for a junior colt–Unanimous Junior Champion Colt. Read all about Scapa’s successes at the Event!
Big congrats to both Gary and Scapa! We’re sure this is just one of many successes for them–in breeding and photography!

Gary and Wanda Kenworthy proudly announce the affiliation of long-time Egyptian breeders, Carole and Jim Deegan with Paradise Arabians. Says Wanda, ” Carole and Jim have been our friends and mentors since we first began our breeding program in the early 1990s. They are so experienced, so kind, and so inspiring, that we feel very blessed that they have agreed to join our team at Paradise Arabians.” Carole comments, “Have you ever tried to say no to Wanda Kenworthy?! She is relentless! Seriously, we love Wanda and Gary and their clients, and we’re very happy to be involved with them. This is such a family atmosphere, and the horses are so magnificent, how could we resist?”
Carole and Jim Deegan began their Egyptian breeding program in the 1970s. Over their 30 years of involvement they were responsible for the spectacular growth and success of three farms: Cedar Hill Arabians in Forsyth, Ga., Arabians Ltd. in China Spring, Tx., and Cadron Creek Arabians in Heber Springs, Arkansas.
Jim’s expertise has always been in the areas of business planning, marketing, stallion selection and promotion, and farm management. Carole’s special strengths include client education and services, communication and marketing, and Arabian history amd pedigrees. Of course, both of the Deegans are experts in making breeding decisions and promoting the breeding program of their farm and clients..
Carole and Jim retired from the horse business in 2003, and have been inactive over the past seven years, living in Lawrenceville, Ga. near family. But they were recruited by Gary and Wanda to assist with some of the larger Paradise events in the fall of 2010. Says Gary, “We are so fortunate to have Carole and Jim join our wonderful Paradise Farm staff. It’s just ‘icing on the cake’ in everything we do. They are dedicated to Straight Egyptian Arabians, and they bring an incredible amount of experience and expertise to our breeding program. In fact, many of the top Egyptian breeding programs in the world got started with the support and mentoring of Carole and Jim Deegan.”
Says Carole, ” Our philosophy is rooted in the premise that many of us share an undeniable attraction to the beauty and historical significance of Egyptian Arabian horses. It is a commitment to love them, care for them, and experience a part of their living history.
