In case any of you have been worried about Layla, the filly who lost her mother at 4 weeks of age and who has been having a tough time finding a friend to hang out with, I thought we’d share with you how she is getting along with her latest buddy, Maxine or Misty Ruth, it depends upon whom you ask. Today we reunite Layla with her previous buddies that didn’t work out. We’ll see how things have developed.

A new baby arrives in Paradise (albeit in a rather unconventional way)! I guess the mare, Malawi PG, decided it might be easier to have the baby standing up. Maybe the straw wasn’t comfortable enough for her. Watch how Heather Harness never loses her cool through the process. What a great job she did!!! And also notice how this “crazy” Arabian mare deals with the humans in her space, messin’ with her baby!!!! Just another day in “Paradise”!

On this day we hosted an “Open Barn Day” and allowed visitors to experience “Paradise” and all that it entails. Folks were free to tour the barn, the pastures, the trails…nothing was off limits. It just so happened that a new foal came into the world at 4AM so several of the visitors got to experience something that few have had the opportunity to do, feed a brand new colt. On this day we had local visitors and from as far away as Saudi Arabia and South Africa! Of course, we seized the opportunity so show off some of our show horses and even a couple mares with their babies by their side. It was a special day. I wish you could have experienced it with us but in this footage you’ll be able to get a taste of some of the things you missed. We welcome YOUR next visit.

Today Bethany is visiting mares and their babies in the pasture. It was a beautiful, sunny day and the horses were taking advantage of the warm sun, the plentiful grass and the gentle breezes so common here at Paradise. It seems to me you’ve got one question to ask yourself…why were you not here today??? We had visitors all the way from Saudi Arabia who drove all the way from Lexington, KY today just to visit! Come visit during our open barn this weekend!

Yesterday was a wonderful day. We were given a lovely, lazy Sunday afternoon. With warm temperatures, abundant sunshine and gentle breezes, everyone who visited seemed to be in that “kick back and enjoy” frame of mind. It was a special afternoon. If you were not one of the lucky ones who visited, please enjoy a little taste of our “lazy Sunday afternoon” in Paradise.
