Al Kha Zar

Al Kha Zar

2004 Grey Stallion
Thee Asil x Infidels Princes

This young stallion has an incredibly bright future! He was purchased in late 2006 by Peter and Vivienne Hall of Fairview Arabians in Australia. Fairview is the breeder of multiple National Champion horses in the US and in Australia, and we’re honored that they’ve selected Al Kha-Zar, whose name means “The Promise of the Future” in Arabic, to carry on their tradition of creating champion foals.

Al Kha-Zar’s owner, Peter Hall, shares why he chose the stallion:

Al Kha Zar

Initially we were looking for a colt with a very dished face and a long, fine neck, a good body, and everything else. We were searching for a horse to compliment our El Shaklan-bred mare band. We needed a colt unrelated to him but with similar characteristics, of any Arabian bloodline.

We were most impressed with the honest way in which Al Kha-Zar was initially presented to us via video/DVD. There was no attempt to hide any faults and we found this to be most refreshing as we had been looking for an Arabian colt for almost 5 years.

Our El Shaklan mare band is very strong and they are top producers–many have been judged Australian National Champion Arabian mares or fillies. We wished to be able to retain their Arabian-featured, beautiful dished faces, size, correct conformation, and a high set tail plus length of leg. We did not wish to lose any of the Arabian features our mares possess–we wanted to introduce an outcross sire and a horse with a longer, finer neck, and this we have done with Al Kha-Zar.

In his first foal, 2007 grey filly Fairview Nile Princess, Al Kha-Zar has contributed a very dished face, long neck and level topline and croup, plus long, correct legs. We expect the same when we breed him to our other mares. Mares currently in foal to him include 3 straight Egyptian mares (breeding Egyptians is a new venture for us), and several El Shaklan-related mares, including one of our beautiful Australian National Champion Arabian Mares Windella Silver Fascination (by Amir El Shaklan).

The name Al Kha-Zar (”The Promise of the Future”) could prove to be very prophetic–we certainly hope so.
