Update: Scapa’s first filly

June 22nd, 2008

Bint Alia Riyala

In a beautifully poetic turn of events, our very first Egyptian Arabian, the world-famous, black mare Alia Riyala, yesterday gave us the very first filly ever sired by our young stallion Scapa, who is already making quite a name for himself in the show world. Scapa was bred by Paradise, so this filly is part of the third generation of our breeding program, which is impressive for an endeavor that began in 1994!

The chestnut filly, to be named Bint Alia Riyala, will be kept for the Paradise broodmare band and will continue the legacy of her great mother.

Alia Riyala

Alia Riyala has established her own dynasty at Paradise and around the world. Her sons are as well-known as her daughters. Her sons by Thee Desperado include Black Desperado, a champion in Israel, the late SoVeign and now The Singleton, whose second group of foals are arriving this spring to great acclaim. Her first daughter, Egyptian Event Champion and valued Paradise broodmare Alia Shaniah (by Shahir IASB), will show in the Mares 10 & Over Class at the 2008 Egyptian Event and has produced champion offspring of her own.

Instead of carrying foals to term in the future, Alia Riyala will now have embryos available for purchase from Paradise. This is a unique chance to take part in Ali’s legacy! Please contact Gary Kenworthy for more details.

What a handsome animal, MJ and I cannot wait to see the result of breeding Scapa to Ibriiziy Infidel which we are hopeful will happen during the 2009 breeding season. Paradise Arabian is a great experience!

I admire this filly and her sire beyond words, and I am a poet! Congratulations. I have a GG Samir daughter and one day hope to acquire an Al Khamsa filly to begin a new chapter in my lifelong love affair with this breed. All best to you and your stunning horses!
